Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, located in the continental Croatia, between the southern slopes of Medvednica mountain and the banks of the Sava River. It is famous for its Austro-Hungarian architecture and its numerous parks. Zagreb has grown on two neighboring hills, Gradec and Kaptol – or just Upper town, with The Blue Funicular that connects Upper and Lower Town and carried the title of the shortest funicular in the world. In Zagreb you can’t miss The Cathedral built in neo-Gothic style and one of the most valuable monuments of Croatian cultural heritage, Church of St. Mark with it’s famous roof, Lotrščak Tower, Strossmayer promenade, and a lot of narrow streets with a lot of terraces and souvenir shops, Bloody Bridge a small street which connects Tkalčićeva street and Radićeva Street and The King Tomislav Square with it’s neo-Classical and Secessionist buildings and palaces, and Ban Jelačić square as a main Square, Dolac the biggest market, and The Croatian National Theatre, Ilica Street, the main and the longest street in Zagreb, full of shops.
