Rovinj/Rovigno is today the third most populous town in the county, behind Pula/Pola and Poreč/Parenzo. Porec is our next stop, this area has been inhabited since prehistoric times. During the 2nd century BC, Roman Castrum was built on a tiny peninsula where the town center is now.
