Peljesac Wine Tour takes you to the beautiful Pelješac peninsula. Located in the heart of South Dalmatia, close to Dubrovnik. This picturesque area is home to some of the most interesting red wines in Europe.
It’s been a lot of talks about Croatian wines…Every story has the origin, and this tour takes you right to the point of origin!
Let’s include a trio of wine-tasting stories at Croatia’s most respected wine cellars and let’s visit their vineyards on the slopes of this magnificent peninsula of Pelješac and have a typical Dalmatian lunch at the Mali Ston.
Yor excellent English speaking driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel or private accommodation and drive you towards Pelješac peninsula. The First stop is the Matusko winery, where you will get a chance to taste red & white wines and his now legendary, DINGAČ red one, made of 100% Plavac Mali grapes.
According to the well-known story, this famous grape originally comes from South part of Dalmatia, and you are going to experience, as we mentioned, the point of origin – the soil, the sun, and wineries famous for producing the Zinfandel, that you have tasted someplace else – maybe in California.
That’s the reason we are taking you to visit the Grgich winery in Trstenik. Miljenko Grgich studied wine-making in Zagreb. After migrating to the US, with only $20 in his pocket, he founded the famous Grgich Hills winery in Napa Valley but not before he made a name for himself being part of Chateau Montelena success story in the 70s! While you visit the Grgic cellars, you will taste their famous white Posip and their red Plavac Mali Dingac. The winery is located on a hill overlooking the Trstenik harbor.
And on the way – one more, Madirazza winery. Now you now a lot – and there is nothing more to say – maybe just; Živjeli- in Croatian or in English – Cheers!; Our final lunch time will be to the Mali Ston where you can taste the best fish food and have the lunch time will be to the Mali Ston where you can taste the best fish food and have the
