Šibenik & Krapanj boat panorama tour
The Šibenik archipelago consists of 285 islands.
Although this is a large number of islands, only six are permanently populated. The clean sea and gorgeous city of Šibenik and its surrounding islands create an unforgettable experience you won’t find anywhere else.
This tour is an opportunity to experience Šibenik from another perspective and discover the breathtaking Šibenik archipelago. Also, on this tour, we take a boat ride to the island of Krapanj, a small gem of the Adriatic Sea.
The start from Šibenik
Departure by boat from Šibenik, you will have a fantastic panoramic view of Šibenik’s old town. This is how most of the visitors in history got their first impression of Šibenik in the times before the roads were developed.
Navigation by natural and human-made beauties, such as UNESCO fortress St. Nicholas, St Anthony channel, city beach, and crystal turquoise sea on our way to Krapanj, will surely be unforgettable memories.
Krapanj – an island of sponge harvesters
After an hour-long boat ride to Krapanj Island, you will stop on this small island and visit a small sponge museum – Spuga 2, a charming reminder of a 100-year-old tradition of sponge harvesting.
Krapanj is the lowest and smallest inhabited island in the Adriatic Sea. It has a particular yet simple shape – it is completely flat, with the highest point of just 1.25 meters above sea level, and it has a surface of just 0.36 km2. Only a hundred years ago, it was also the densest inhabited island of the Adriatic. Nowadays around 200 people live here. The island is quiet and traffic-free, with narrow streets and stone-built houses that make it breathtaking.
Šibenik city tour
Return to Šibenik, after the introduction given while on the boat, we will visit Šibenik, this gem on the Adriatic coast. It is a Gothic-renaissance city and a natural pearl on the Adriatic coast.
Thanks to the 15 and 16 centuries period, when it was the wealthiest and most powerful town in Dalmatia, Šibenik has conserved various beautiful and abundantly decorated palaces hidden in old stone, narrow streets. The city’s center is marked by the unique St. James Cathedral, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2000.
