Hidden Gems of Hvar Island offers many original and hidden places, together with stunning views, like Pakleni and the neighboring islands. Enjoy the spectacular views and the scenery of amazing Hvar. Get in touch with the rural life of the island of Hvar and have lunch/dinner in one of the villages.
Discovering the Hidden Gems of Hvar Island is the perfect way to experience the authentic side of Croatia, far away from the most crowded tourist areas.

The tour begins with the French Fortress built by Napoleon’s troops on St. Nicholas Hill (used as a place of reconnaissance and lookout). It has a scenic view of Hvar town, the Spanish Fortress, Pakleni, and Vis islands.

We will continue a drive through the green and rural island of Hvar, passing through Brusje, where we can walk through the Lavender fields (seasonal options June – July).

The old road is paved with amazing views. We will stop at Napoleon Road and the perfect views of the island’s deepest bays.

Then we approach the fascinating village of Velo Grablje, which was founded in the 14th century. Stone houses and courtyards still capture attention with their fascinating architecture. While walking within its narrow streets, you will feel the breath of past times. Today, the village is nearly abandoned, having but a few permanent villagers. However, it was a prosperous place, famous for its good wine and olive oil production. Honey production was well known, along with lavender oil being the leading one in Europe at the time.

As we go back and leave Velo Grablje along the dry brook line, we will get to the charming abandoned village of Malo Grablje. Our authentic Dalmatian lunch/dinner will be in one of the villages (depending on availability), with the main dish being the famous Dalmatian peka – or „under the iron bell. “
