Bacina Lakes Kayaking or Photo Safari tour & Gastro fairytale

Bacina Lakes Kayaking or Photo Safari tour & Gastro fairytale

per person

Enjoy a scenic drive along the Dalmatian coast and stop at several overlooks for amazing panoramic views of the Dalmatian islands.

Starting from Split or Dubrovnik, we’ll begin our full-day experience discovering the wildness of the Neretva delta.

Experience Neretva Valley

Visiting a swamp while on holiday? Why not!

Especially if it reveals to us wonderful animals, plants, and nature, which seem untouched by a human hand. The Neretva’s is long and wide, and it reveals such natural treasures that you could only wish for.

Along with seeing the untouched beauties of nature, you can swim and taste the local cuisine. So genuine you can’t even imagine it…

The Baćina Lakes

The Baćina lakes kayaking tour starts at the beach in Peračko blato every morning; an easy kayaking tour, perfect for learning the basics of this outdoor activity.

Kayaking as an activity is pretty easy, and you shouldn’t worry about it even if you never saw a kayak in your life.

We then embark on the second part of our journey, passing near the water lily fields and through a narrow canal. A second break awaits us in a perfect small lagoon. It’s a swimming/picnic break at one of the calmest and most beautiful places of Baćina lakes. We’ll put you in some hammocks so you can enjoy the sounds of the cricket choir while gently swinging in a hammock.

A Photo Safari, anyone?

After arrival in Bacina Lakes, a place off the beaten path and with untouched nature and biodiversity – if you would like to experience the scenery and this amazing atmosphere  – we have The Laggia. The typical boat and common vessel in Neretva valley.

The gastronomic sensation

In the unique triangle of lake, sea, and river, in the extreme south, there is a town with only 6,000 inhabitants. A small oasis of the Adriatic, a port town that has not neglected its tourist potential – the town of Ploče, where we take you to lunch at the restaurant with a tradition of almost fifty years, with specialties created by local fishermen, a top chef, and a charismatic restaurant owner.

Restoran Fulin Ploče, Croatia.

You’ll enjoy the show cooking of traditional dishes, which recipes passed down by word of mouth from one generation to the next and are adored by the locals.

Frog and eel specialties dominate the traditional Neretva cuisine, such as the inevitable frog and eel stew, breaded frogs, and eels on a spit. Or perhaps you prefer boiled coot. Regarding Dalmatian brudet (fish stew), the Neretva style is a bit different. It’s spiced with hot peppers, which give a specific and delicious taste. It can be very hot, so those who don’t like spicy food should order theirs to be prepared a bit lighter. The Neretva cuisine is unthinkable without frogs. The crackling of frogs from the swamp turns into a rhapsody of frogs on a plate in dishes like frog risotto, breaded frogs, and frogs in prosciutto. Homemade hearth bread is usually served with those dishes.

Our Suggestions:

Soup, Brudet with polenta, dessert, 0.25 l wine and water

Or

Soup, Fulin meat dish, side dish: Swiss chard and roasted vegetables, salad, dessert, 0.25 l wine and water

The gastronomic sensation is guaranteed.

Apart from untouched nature, the Neretva boat rides, local delicacies, and exploring flora and fauna of the wetland area, the Neretva valley has a lot more to offer.
