Klis Fortress & lunch in Olive Garden (Gastro experience)
Join us on a day spent exploring Klis Fortress, indulging in a traditional Dalmatian lunch in a beautiful olive garden, and taking a journey through the heart and soul of Dalmatia.
After a short scenic drive from Split, we will approach the fortress Klis, which awaits your exploration, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea and the Dalmatian coastline.
The Klis fortress
“Kliška tvrđava” (Klis fortress) is one of the most important medieval fortresses in Dalmatian history. Klis Fortress guarded the frontier, which was lost and re-conquered several times during two thousand years of history. Upon entering Klis Fortress, you’ll find yourself wandering through the maze of stone walls and towers that have withstood the test of time.
Besides the rich history of this fortress, recently famous for The Game of Thrones scenery, you will be thrilled with a breathtaking view of Split and the islands of Brač, Hvar, and Vis.
After enjoying historical attractions and stunning views, we will descend into the field to the Olive Garden for a genuine Dalmatian feast!
Your host will greet you with a welcome drink – a homemade liqueur from local fruits. You will enjoy local specialties, taste some olive oil, and blend it into the ambiance.
All dishes are accompanied by excellent Croatian wines! Lunch concludes with traditional sweets.
From the echoes of ancient battles at the fortress to the flavors of locally sourced ingredients in your meal, every moment is an opportunity to connect with the rich heritage of the remarkable Dalmatia region.
